Lying Legacy 9-1-18

LYING’S LEGACY

For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. (Galatians 6:3).

Good people live badly because they think good of their bad. Here is how it works.

  1. WE LIE TO OTHER PEOPLE ABOUT OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD IN THE HOPE THEY WILL NOT SEE OUR SINS: 1 John 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
  2. WE BEGIN TO JUSTIFY OUR LIE AND MAKE EXCUSES FOR OUR WRONG ACTIONS: 1 John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
  3. WE COME TO BELIEVE GOD’S WORD MUST BE WRONG AND THE LIE WE ARE LIVING MUST BE RIGHT: 1 John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

The only way to break this “Lying Legacy” is to tell the truth- If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9).
